Dr. Gill Pratt believes that technology should maximize our quality of life — not detract from it. As the Chief Scientist and Executive Fellow for Research, Dr. Pratt guides research strategy for the Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and the Toyota Group. Dr. Pratt also serves as the CEO of Toyota Research Institute (TRI), where he directs research to create new capabilities for Toyota in active safety, automated driving, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other human amplification technologies. Previously, Dr. Pratt led a number of robotics research programs for the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he served for five years as a program manager in the Defense Sciences and Tactical Technology Offices
